It all happened when Hashtags member Franco Hernandez together with his friends and girlfriend Janica Nam Floresca went on island hopping this weekend at White Sand Island, North Lamidan, Don Marcelino Davao Occidental.
According to Tom Doromal, one of Franco's friends and also a hashtags member, that while they were riding on a motorized boat going back after the Island hopping, their boat was almost full of water because the waves were so strong.
The sad part was, they were not wearing any life jacket, so the boatman adviced them to just swim towards the shore because if they don't they will all drown. So they all jumped off the boat and started swimming. The waves were so strong, and they were having a hard time swimming towards the shore. According to Janica, they were floating for about 30 minutes. So even shouted to Franco, "Love laban lang". But Franco did not say a word and he just closed his eyes instead.
After a little while, the boatman rescued them and when they reached the shore, the boatman tried to revive Franco but he was still unconscious so they rushed him to Estacion Medical Center at Malita Davao Occidental.
But sad to say, the doctor declared him as dead on arrival, so they transferred Franco to Digos Doctor's Hospital for second opinion, still the doctor declared him as dead.
